Let me first start off by saying, this may be a children’s book but I think many adults could learn a thing or two as well as children.

This is a must have for your littles library.

“Skin color can’t tell you much about what people are like, what they know, what foods they think are yummy, what their favorite books are, or even where they were born. Just by looking at someone, we can’t tell who they are on the inside. But sometimes people try to anyway”. This part really stood out for me. Really read that little paragraph & let it sink in.

My little may be too young to understand some parts in this book but just reading it out loud to her matters. Children are never too young to learn about racism. Racism is taught, you are not born with it.

I also love how it is interactive in certain parts! “What do you call your UNIQUE skin color?” What a perfect line! It’s perfect to get your mini (even adults) engaged while learning at the same time! Have those uncomfortable conversations. They are SO important!
