What is the Moon? by Katie Daynes

Writer's picture: Lauren FullerLauren Fuller

A super fun flap book all about the moon!

This is actually an Usborne book. I don't know much about Usborne books but when I saw this one, I had to check it out!

I have seen so many space books that lack diversity in the characters and this one does not!

There are so many flaps in this book as well, which is so fun for the littles. They are very sturdy too. The author talks about what the moon is, the different phases of the moon, the first person to walk on the moon, how to get to the moon, and what it's like on the moon. I love the ending because it shows a little getting all suited up to go to the moon and getting her "rocket ship" which is a cardboard box all ready to go!

I love when books educate littles and also show the importance of imagination. After my daughter and I read this book we went out and got some cardboard boxes and made one! It was so fun!

I recently just learned you can get Usborne books on Amazon. I was under the impression you could only buy them from a person selling them. I will definitely be looking more into the books they carry.

If your little loves all things space, this is a good start!
